Established in 1976, the Pufferbilly Days Festival has become a beloved tradition in Boone, IA, celebrating the town’s rich rail history and vibrant community spirit. To commemorate 50 years of Pufferbilly fun, the theme for the 2026 festival is “Through the Decades.”

The 2026 festival promises to be bigger and better than ever, featuring a diverse range of activities and entertainment for all ages. AC/DC Tribute

Back in Black

The #1 AC/DC Cover Band in the country, with over 50K followers. For over 20 years, Back in Black has been dedicated to bringing the sound, look, and raw power of AC/DC to audiences nationwide. So authentic that AC/DC auditioned their singer, Darren Caperna, to replace Brian Johnson for their 2016 world tour — a story told in the award-winning 2023 documentary My Stupid Tribute Band.

90s Tribute

90’s Rockshow

The only 90’s tribute band with a live string section. From Orange County, California, 90’s Rockshow brings to life the alternative and grunge hits of Nirvana, No Doubt, Alanis Morissette, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Green Day, Blink 182, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Sublime, Third Eye Blind, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M., The Foo Fighters, Goo Goo Dolls, Oasis, and more.

Festival originator

One of the originators of the Festival 50 years ago! Holly owned Holly’s Clothing Store in Downtown Boone for decades and was a valued member of the Festival Committee for years. Now retired and living in Boone.

Stan Moffitt

Boone businessman

A long-time businessman and Boone community supporter. His family business is Moffitt Ford in Boone. Now retired and residing in Boone.

Fifty years on, one of the people who started it all is riding in the parade.
