Child care is a constant concern for people in the workforce and employers.
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is implementing a multi-phase Shared Services project. This work is in response to the Governor’s Child Care Task Force Report (November 2021).
The multi-phase Shared Services project includes:
Launch of two new online tools, Child Care Search and Child Care Data Dashboards, powered by Iowa Child Care Connect (C3);
Extension of state-funded monthly CCMS licenses for brightwheel and Playground through June 30, 2025;
Process for additional CCMS vendors to connect to C3;
Continued funding for business coaching that helps providers learn to use the CCMS software and analyze data in the system to improve business practices; and
Launch of a child care-specific business resource library with over 50 topics.

There’s already child care search. Maybe they should pay the people who provide the care a decent wage. Give them health insurance so they don’t have to be on Medicaid & paid time off. McDonald’s workers make more.
